BCAC are thrilled to announce the addition of Silver Memories for residents at our Gillawarna and Yallambee facilities.

Silver Memories is a specialised nostalgia music & visual service for the aged, providing reminiscence music therapy.

The Silver Memories service:
• Plays age appropriate music from the 1940s – 1970s
• Displays curated photographs that help those living in aged care and those with dementia to recall treasured memories
• Caring announcers engage with listeners through daily birthday and cheerio calls

The unique radio service takes listeners on a trip down memory lane so they can recall treasured memories from the past. Through the power of music reminiscence therapy, Silver Memories creates endearing experiences for people living in aged care and those living with dementia.

Benefits of using Silver Memories:
• Improves quality of life: Clinical benefits have been proven in three research projects, with results showing significant improvements in overall wellbeing, morale and quality of life
• Increases engagement: focused on creating people-first experiences that reduce social isolation by stimulating memories and sparking conversations
• Lifts mood

We are excited for residents to use this service, and welcome any initial feedback about the service.
