At Bankstown City Aged Care (BCAC), we understand the importance of providing quality care and fostering a welcoming environment for our residents and their families. The dedication of our admin support team plays a crucial role in ensuring that our residents and their families feel welcome, informed and cared for during their time at BCAC. Two key members of this team, Susan and Annalise, share their passion and commitment to creating a positive and supportive environment for residents at both Gillawarna and Yallambee Villages.

Susan: Receptionist / Admin Support at Gillawarna Village

Susan has been an integral part of the BCAC team for over five years, serving as a member of the reception and administration team at Gillawarna Village. Susan ensures that every visitor, resident and family member feels welcome from the moment they step into the village.

“I love working at BCAC, I take so much pride working with residents and families,” Susan shares. Her friendly and approachable nature makes her an invaluable asset to the team, and her role goes far beyond just handling administrative tasks. Susan is often the first point of contact for families, addressing inquiries, providing updates and making sure everyone feels heard and supported.

Her work is an extension of the high standards BCAC is known for, as she reflects, “I always feel supported and encouraged here. I have a fantastic, close-knit team at Gillawarna.”

Susan brings positive energy to the workplace, always maintaining a “glass half full” mindset, as she puts it. “I’m definitely a glass half full kind of person and never turn down learning something new,” she says. Her positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed ensure that the daily operations run smoothly. It’s this unwavering dedication to excellence that makes Susan an invaluable asset to the BCAC family.

Annalise: Receptionist / Admin Support at Yallambee Village

After graduating from high school in 2021 and starting her career working in retail customer service, Annalise realised she wanted to pursue a more meaningful and rewarding career. Her desire to make a difference in people’s lives led to the field of aged care.

“The idea came to my mind of looking into career pathways in aged care when family of my own had to transition into an aged care facility,” Annalise explains. This personal experience inspired her to join BCAC, where she began working at Yallambee Village as a receptionist in 2024. Despite her short time at BCAC, Annalise has already formed deep connections with the residents and staff, and she treasures her role in making their day-to-day lives easier.

“Since working at Yallambee Village I feel a part of a community of amazing people. Each day you’ll meet people who have lived amazing lives,” she shares. “Residents love to share their stories, so you’ll learn from their pasts, hear about the good old days and find out surprising things about incredible people.”

Although her role is currently focused on reception, Annalise’s long-term goal is to transition into a care staff position, where she can assist residents even further. Her passion for aged care is evident, and she looks forward to growing with BCAC and contributing even more to the care and wellbeing of the residents.

Together, Susan and Annalise are not only helping to provide administrative support but are also building lasting connections with residents and their families. Their passion and dedication are an essential part of BCAC’s mission to deliver exceptional care and service to those who call BCAC home.
