Re: COVID-19 case at Yallambee Village

We regret to advise that overnight we were informed by NSW Health that an agency care staff member who worked one shift within Esme Hilton House at Yallambee Village has tested positive for COVID-19. The affected agency worker is now in isolation and is being treated. No residents at Yallambee are displaying any symptoms of COVID.

We are currently working closely with NSW Health who will determine and communicate with any close contacts of the infected person. Yallambee Village is now in lockdown and we have implemented our COVID-19 Outbreak Management Plan.

NO VISITORS will be allowed on site until further notice.

In consultation with NSW Health, all residents in Esme Hilton House are now in isolation until further advice is given by the Public Health Unit. This means the residents cannot leave their room for any reason and staff will be wearing full PPE for all care interventions.

Additional staffing has been arranged to assist with managing the isolation of residents in Esme Hilton.

You are not permitted to enter Esme Hilton for any reason until further notice.

As a result of the positive COVID-19 result, our team is closely monitoring all residents within the village for any signs of COVID symptoms and NSW Health have arranged COVID testing of ALL RESIDENTS AND STAFF this morning.

Once the COVID test results are available, a member of the BCAC team will contact each family to give them the results.  Once all families have been contacted individually ongoing communication will be via email. We will be keeping residents, their families and loved ones updated as information is available to us.

We appreciate that this is concerning news and assure you that our dedicated team is implementing all appropriate health measures.

Thank you for your support and patience.
